Ball Valve

A ball valve is a critical component in the oil and gas industry, serving as a crucial element in the control and regulation of fluid flow within a piping system. This versatile valve derives its name from the spherical closure element within its body, which is responsible for controlling the flow of oil, gas, or other fluids through the pipeline.

The construction of a typical ball valve consists of a hollow, perforated ball that is positioned within a pipeline, allowing for the precise modulation of fluid flow. The ball contains a central bore through which the process fluid passes when the valve is in the open position. Conversely, rotation of the ball by a quarter turn closes the valve, blocking the passage of fluids and effectively shutting off the flow.
